Run Number 522

RUN OF TACOMA PUBs

Saturday, June 3rd, 2006

Hared by:  Magot of Kent

Start and pissup:Dock Street Tavern, Tacoma

Cost: $10.00

Time: 3 PMPhoto of Mt. Rainier towering over the clock tower of Old City Hall

Very True. Several of Tacoma's finest, hippest, and dankest drinking establishments await our sweaty thirst driven souls with open arms.

Magot sacrificed one Saturday morning and afternoon exploring the streets, alleys, and backwoods of Tacoma where I selected and rejected pubs based on no logical rhyme or reason. I rejected one pub because they had CNN on. Who in the hell watches CNN on a Saturday afternoon?

Regarding the run, I'm really excited as I discovered places I never knew existed. I discovered a hole in a hillside under a tree where somebody obviously lives. I think they were home because their shoes were neatly positioned at the entry way. I slowly crept away, not wanting to disturb.

Between the pubs whose reputations we'll undoubtedly tarnish, you'll see beautiful old homes nestled amidst Tacoma's aggressive gentrification project. Tacoma is a city on the rise, if you haven't been there in awhile you won't want to miss this Hash.

Driving Directions:

Driving Directions: Take I5 to Tacoma and exit just after the Tacoma Dome onto I705. This part is tricky. Once on I705, avoid taking the downtown exits by following the signs for Shuster PKWY. I705 becomes a 2-way road once you pass downtown. When you reach the first traffic light, turn right, drive down the ramp onto Dock Street and you'll immediately see a large building on your left. Park on the far side of this building.

The whole drive on I705 is probably less than 2 miles.
